Lawrence David recorded a successful return to the CV Show at the NEC, welcoming an array of visitors to the stand including old, current and new customers. Taking center stage in hall 5, Lawrence David exhibited 3 completely new vehicles inside, along with our industry leading, double deck curtainside trailer in the outside exhibition area.
The new vehicles located on the Lawrence David stand included a new step-frame box trailer made with a new panel material. The low density polyethylene core with hot-dipped galvanised steel panels are only 8mm thick and offer weight saving over standard GRP panels along with high impact strength and durability. The new trailer exhibited at the show is one of 14 to be supplied to Dawson Rental Group.
Along with the new step frame box trailer, Lawrence David showcased a new concept home delivery van (HDV) body with an eye catching livery! The livery gave passes by at The CV Show a glimpse into the new body’s capability as a HDV and demonstrates Lawrence David’s commitment to innovation. The new concept body has a refrigerated payload of 1240KG and is manufactured using PET foam panels, facilitating the body’s aerodynamics with a flush panel finish.
The HDV is fitted with an integral reversing camera system combined with high level brake light and side assist lamps allowing for greater viability in urban environments.
To finish of the inside vehicle exhibits, Lawrence David unveiled a completely new type of vehicle on stand, a 26T 6×2 Volvo builders’ merchant drop-side rigid fitted with a Hiab duo crane and brick stack grapple. The new product offering from Lawrence David generated a massive amount of interest at the show and will go on to take pride of place as a demonstrator vehicle in the Volvo fleet.
With its aluminium sub-frame, interlocking strong and lightweight flooring and modular dropside heights from 500mm to 1000mm, the new vehicle from Lawrence David is completely configurable to any customer requirement.
Finally, outside hall 5 Lawrence David exhibited a 13.6M pallet network, step-frame double deck pillarless Curtainside trailer fitted with a new modular hybrid fixed deck. The pre-galvanised steel frame houses a yellow GRP non-slip open grid floor, making the deck 20KG lighter per deck with no loss of strength as well as improving deck visibility when loading. As the deck is pre-galvanised, the environmental impact when manufactured is reduced.
It wasn’t just vehicles that Lawrence David unveiled at this years show. Trailer-eye is the low cost trailer tracking solution provided by Lawrence David.
Trailer-eye from Lawrence David is a cost effective tracking solution that will suit fleets of all sizes. It provides hauliers and operators with a number of innovative solutions to the many problems faced when tracking trailers. Its small size and robust construction means that it can be fitted in discrete locations and will soon be downloadable as an app for all Android and IOS smartphones, enabling trailer tracking on the move.
